Brioche

[ts]
Wordless.

This is JS's Brioche from Artisan Bread in Five Minutes a Day. The crust is a little smushed down because I packed it and waited for daylight before taking a picture.

This picture below was taken at night, right out of the oven.

Breads we've done from the book:
Artisan Deli-Style Rye Bread
Brioche
Swedish Limpa Bread
European Peasant Loaf
Olive Oil Bread with Onions and Olives

Other breads we've made before:
No-Knead Bread, Two Kinds
Sesame Seed Buns
Foccacia
Potato Cornmeal Foccacia
Whole Wheat Challah

  6. I don't have a stand mixer (awful, I know :P ) but I've always really wanted to make brioche. I think I'll have to pick up the book-- the bread looks awesome!

  7. JS deserves all the praise. I guess I failed to mention that it was she who made this. Teehee. =)

JS did this by hand. It's fairly wet, and not too much kneading is required.

But, of course, that doesn't matter. Just get the stand mixer already! =P

That brioche was evil! ;D It'd just be sitting there and enticing us to eat it! Bad, very bad! It has loads of butter! =D
