Simple Greek Meal

lamb chops on the grill

[js]
We invited our cousins next door and visiting relatives to dinner one Saturday night. It's nothing fancy, just simple food with honest-to-goodness flavours. We've sort of gone "Greek" again, because that's what we like.

[ts]
Without much ado, our Simple Greek Meal.

Greek Salad
Authentic! After all, I did as Peter said. Oh wait, this doesn't have green peppers. Darn!

Chickpea Salad
Simply tossed with some red onions and mint, then dressed with lemon juice and olive oil.

Grilled Prawns (again!)
Apparently, JS can't get enough of them! We already had them here and here.

[js]
This is our last feast of spot prawns as the season is over and there are no more spot prawns to be had. Until next year, my shrimpies.

This chicken looks good already, and it's not even cooked yet! JS stuffed it with garlic and lemon, and rubbed it all over with oregano and salt. We plopped it on top of some potatoes and voilà!

Another one of JS' fantabulous Roast Chickens.

[js]
Well, I can't resist roast chicken. It's one of my favourite meals.

[ts]
And the potatoes? These were the BESTEST part of the meal... at least for me. They tasted like Lemon Roast Potatoes.

Last, but not the least, the Lamb Chops.

After getting comfortable with garlic, olives, and rosemary in a plastic baggie, onto the grill they went.

And there you go! Simple Greek Meal, done.

  6. We're on the same wavelength. I made a Greek salad a few days ago too.

BTW, don't know if you do it, but I prick my lemons with a fork before stuffing them. That way the lemon juices will flavor the inside of the chicken while baking.

Thanks! That is our biggest challenge, the photography! I keep having to take things outside on the deck to photograph! =)
