The kind folks at Cookware.com are generously providing this item for a lucky [eatingclub] vancouver reader.

Cookware.com is part of CSNstores.com. Browse their site to find almost everything, from furniture, home decor, health/fitness equipment, kid-related items, pet-related items, etc. etc. etc. As I said, almost everything! =) But, of course, kitchen products are what's near and dear to our hearts.

  23. I would definitely have to say the Duck Breast with Pomegranate-Chipotle Glaze and Guava-Jalapeño Salad. This is just pure heaven! If any recipe every made me want to lick the computer screen, it is definitely the duck!

    My boyfriend is a pescatarian and a rosti/latke-holic, and I love making sauces (especially with butter) -- this dish combines everything nicely, with an Asian twist, to boot. I had never thought of using fermented shrimp paste this way... Very cool!

    As for what I'd make if I had a real enamelled casserole, I'd probably start with a classic Boeuf Bourguignon.

  69. Lengua Estofada sounds intriguing, and beef tongue has a really neat texture. I've made it braised with soy, but not with veal stock, so it'll be interesting to note the difference in flavour.

  70. If my entry was chosen, the first dish I would make would be a classic Julia Child recipe: Beef Bourguignon. I do not own a Le Creuset, and I am trying to save up to buy one to add to my kitchen arsensal. I really feel this would work miracles for my meal repertoire, which currently lacks variety. FB this as well. :o)

  91. I'm dying to try the mexican chorizo sausage. Yours looks so much better than the kind you find in the supermarket. Besides the obvious egg recipes I think it would be great in my sausage lentil potato soup! Also my potato chorizo empananas... ah the list goes on!!

I've got to give this a try! I really like the square shape, and the Caribbean blue color... It would work well in my cooking space!

  112. Fee-dee-waaah! (Fideuá) As children my sister and I used to play around with the name of this dish. It was so much fun to drag out the waaaah! And it was tasty when my Aunt made it. I'd like to see if I can recreate the yummy experience! We used chicken (NOT rabbit) often instead of the seafodd - still very good!

  114. Bacalao con Patatas (Baked Salt Cod & Potatoes) – one of my favourite dishes! Every year right before Easter, my mom, sister & I would make the pilgrimage to our local Italian store to purchase the salt cod for Bacalao. Mom saw this as an ordinary shopping trip, my sister and I viewed the trip as an adventure!

    The cod was always hidden away in boxes at the very back of the store in a dark, dark corner. We would slowly go through the box, pick through the fish one by one looking to find “the one” perfect in size for the family.

    It’s 20-odd years later, the local Italian store went through a major renovation and all dark corners have been banished. Around Easter you can still find salt cod in boxes for sale, but if you don’t want to get your hands fishy you can pick up a pre-packaged chunk of cod in the fridge section year round.

    The only time I have this dish is at my moms and seeing the link to the recipe reminded me of how much I like it! I think I’ll be making a trip to the Italian store this weekend and dreaming of a Caribbean Blue Le Creuset…
